A man has been taken to hospital by air ambulance in a critical condition after he was injured by a firework.
Emergency services attended an address on Cedar Way in Guildford at around 15:00 BST on Sunday following reports of concern for someone's safety.
A 164ft (50m) evacuation zone was set up as a precautionary measure and an explosive ordnance disposal team attended to secure the area.
Surrey Police told residents that "at this stage we don't believe there to be any third party involvement".
A police cordon in place had been removed as of Monday morning.
Kenz, who lives nearby, said he arrived home to see "around 20 police cars scattered around the estate".
"It looked like something major had gone on, we were a bit worried," he told BBC Radio Surrey.
