Man denies attempted murder over shooting incident

A 30-year-old man has denied he tried to murder another man in a town.

Police were called to Howard Close in Waltham Abbey, Essex, shortly before 15:30 GMT on 24 November after reports of a shooting.

The victim was taken to hospital with leg injuries, which were not described as life threatening.

At Basildon Crown Court on Monday, Hamidreza Nasiri, of Holbrook Close, Enfield, north London, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He is due to stand trial at the same court on 14 April.

A 54-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, who were both arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, remain on police bail.
