A 17-year-old boy is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Cornwall, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident involved a red Aprilia motorcycle and a blue BMW 1 Series.

It happened at about 18:40 BST on Wednesday at the junction of Avenue Road and Grove Place in Falmouth.

Another 17-year-old boy who was riding the motorbike has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, police added. He remains in custody.

A police spokesperson said a road closure was put in place until 23:25 while initial investigations took place.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage has been asked to contact investigating officers.
