People living in Fenland are being offered help with rising costs and managing budgets.

A series of cost of living fairs are due to take place in Whittlesey, Wisbech and Chatteris later this month.

The free drop-in sessions include advice on managing energy costs, benefits and support and grants that might be available.

They are being run by Fenland District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

The sessions, which offer free tea and coffee, take place between 10:00 and 13:00 GMT at the following locations:

  • Whittlesey - Friday 15 November at Peel House, Queen Street

  • Wisbech - Monday 18 November at The Oasis Community Centre, St Michael's Avenue

  • Chatteris - Monday 25 November at The King Edward Centre, King Edward Road

Susan Wallwork, Fenland District Council's Conservative portfolio holder for communities, said: "We know the cost of living remains a challenge and this is a chance to pick up some tips useful to everyone.

"There will be help and information for those who are really struggling as well as handy tips relevant for all households and details of support people might be entitled to and missing out on.

"We welcome everyone to come along."

According to the government's indices of deprivation 2019, Fenland was the most deprived district in Cambridgeshire.
