'Spike' in car break-ins prompts police warning

Police are increasing patrols around a car park in Ibstock following a series of vehicle break-ins and attempted break-ins.

Leicestershire Police say they have noticed a "spike" in the number of vehicles being targeted at the council car park in High Street.

Officers from the Bardon beat team will be increasing patrols in the car park as a result.

Police have advised drivers who use the car park to make sure they are lock their car, secure valuables and consider using a steering wheel lock in an effort to deter any would-be thieves.
