Man arrested after M25 multi-vehicle crash

A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 in Surrey, police have said.

The crash happened at around 18:05 BST on Wednesday between junction eight for Reigate and junction nine for Leatherhead on the anticlockwise carriageway.

A total of eight people were given medical attention at the scene or taken to hospital.

Three lanes of the carriageway were closed for several hours.

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage to come forward.
