A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Lincoln.

Police were called to Prial Close in the early hours of Monday to help a 51-year-old woman, who was taken to hospital.

The man, who was initially arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, was later rearrested on suspicion of murder after the woman died.

Lincolnshire Police said a cause of death was yet to be established but the incident was being treated as suspicious.

The force said there would be a "heightened police presence at the location" while inquires continued.
