A four-year project to restore a 17th Century building in Guildford is now complete.
The Grade I-listed Guildford House, on the High Street, was built in 1660 for John Childe, a lawyer who went on to be the Surrey town's mayor three times.
It is now home to the Guildford House Gallery, a gift shop and the tourist information centre.
Richard Lucas, lead councillor for finance and property at Guildford Borough Council, said: "The results are fantastic and I'm very proud of the work our teams have done.
"Not only have original features been brought back to life, but key structural repairs have also been made, which means that the building can continue to be enjoyed by visitors for years to come."
The extensive work included stripping layers of paint from the decorative window trim, which revealed their original intricate designs.
Damaged tiles were also replaced with custom-made replicas, rotten timber and window sills were repaired, and the rear courtyard was redecorated.
The building is free to enter and is open from 10:00 to 16:30 GMT, Tuesday to Saturday.
