Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man in his 20s.

The victim was found seriously injured in Eldon Lane near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, at just before 03:00 GMT on Saturday. He died at the scene.

Two men and two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody for questioning.

A woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers said cordons remain in place and have asked the public to avoid the area.
