Venue to host 50 couples in mass renewal ceremony

A venue is to host a mass renewal of vows to mark the end of it holding weddings.
Ceremonies have been held at Lyde Court, in Hereford, for 10 years but the venue has now decided to step back from hosting them so it can focus on using its space for other activities.
Owner Gary Waring said he still wanted to be part of people's special day and decided the 14th Century barn would host at least 50 couples in a mass renewal ceremony.
He said it would be an opportunity to "get the brides and their wedding dresses back out again."
The ceremony will be conducted in 2025 and couples can express their interest at the Lyde Court website.
Mr Waring added: "The whole idea was around the fact that brides only get to wear their dresses once ever, then it's put in a cupboard and they never get to do anything with it.
"Come along, redo your vow and we'll throw you a big party with a DJ and food at the end of the day with all the other couples and their families."
Although the barn will now be used as a cafe, Mr Waring said it could still be used by couples who were looking to have a "Gretna green style wedding, where people can just turn up and get married.
"I have always loved that concept because it's not only nice for the couples themselves but also if you're coming out for a cup of coffee and cake with a wedding ceremony next door, people just love it."
