Man appears in court charged with woman's murder

A 31-year-old man has appeared in private at Jedburgh Sheriff Court charged with murder after the death of a 31-year-old woman.
Megan Hughes was found dead at a property in Chirnside during the early hours of Sunday.
Corey Dryden from Berwickshire made no plea during a brief appearance.
He was remanded in custody to appear again within eight days.
In a statement released via Police Scotland, Ms Hughes' family said: "Megan was a much-loved mother and daughter.
"She was beautiful and caring. This has left a massive hole in the family who are all absolutely devastated."
