A man has been arrested after a pedestrian was dragged along a road by a vehicle in Blackburn and taken to hospital for treatment.
Lancashire Police said the man in his 50s, whose injuries were "not thought to be life-changing or threatening", was struck and pulled down the road at about 02:20 BST on Preston New Road.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, the force said.
Eyewitnesses, passing drivers, or people with footage from between 02:10 and 02:25 have been urged to contact police.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said patrols in the area had been stepped up "as a precaution".
"We know this may be concerning to hear about, but we want to reassure you that an investigation is under way," they said.
