Plans for a new primary school in Broadford in Skye have been approved by Highland Council under delegated powers.
The proposed development includes a nursery for younger children, a public library and a council service point.
The school forms part of the local authority's Highland Investment Plan.
Civil engineering company Morgan Sindall has been appointed as preferred contractor to build the new primary.
It is scheduled for completion by spring/summer 2027.
The Scottish government allocated money towards the project in December 2020.
