Drugs, knives and cash seized in Kent Police sting

Kent Police carried out several raids in the early hours of Monday morning

A series of simultaneous police raids targeting a suspected network of drug dealers in east Kent has led to the arrests of seven people.

Officers said they seized heroin, crack cocaine and ecstasy as well as zombie knives and cash following searches assisted by sniffer dogs.

The early morning operation on Wednesday targeted multiple properties in Dover, Deal, Thanet and Aylesham.

Det Insp Eleanor Miller from Kent Police said: "Anyone dealing drugs in the county should know that our officers could be at their front door tomorrow."

Operation Dew Drop

The BBC was invited to witness part of the crackdown, codenamed Operation Dew Drop.

A convoy of nine police vehicles set off at 05:45 GMT before smashing down the front door of a residential property in Dover.

An XL bully bit an officer trying to enter the property but the dog's teeth did not penetrate the policeman's glove.

In total, six men and a woman, aged between 21 and 63, were arrested at the targeted locations.

Det Insp Miller added: "This was a significant organised crime group operating across east Kent."
