A police force has referred itself to the policing watchdog after a pedestrian was seriously injured during a vehicle pursuit.
The driver of a red Hyundai Tucson failed to stop for officers on the A444 near Junction 3 of the M6, just before midnight on Sunday, Warwickshire Police said.
A brief pursuit ensued on Foleshill Road in Coventry before a man in his 40s, and a number of vehicles, were reportedly struck by the Hyundai's driver.
The force has referred the crash to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
A man, 37, has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving while under the influence of drugs.
