Roads closed as protesters march through town

A number of police officers separated Britain First and counter protesters

A number of roads were closed by police in Nuneaton as protesters marched through the town.
About 250 members of Britain First were kept apart from a similar number of counter-protesters by police as they made their way from the town's railway station to Nuneaton Justice Centre on Saturday afternoon.
Several incidents of violence broke out as police kept the two groups apart.
Nuneaton and Bedworth Council, however, said the core protests dispersed without any arrests. Warwickshire Police has been contacted for more information.
The force earlier said it had a "proportionate policing plan" in place, with protest and neighbourhood officers in the town.
Both groups of protesters started to gather outside the station from about 10:00 GMT on the day, prompting London Northwestern Railway to advise passengers to allow more time for their journeys.
Stagecoach Midlands said that a number of its services were cancelled or delayed throughout the day due to a number of road closures.
