Stagecoach East said its first thoughts were for the boy

The route runs between St Ives and Cambridge and has a dedicated track for buses next to a pavement and cycleway.

Stagecoach East said it would carry out an investigation into the cause of the incident, and Cambridgeshire County Council said an investigation had begun.
