Doors are open to the people who secured tickets in a ballot from 10:00 to 18:00 BST, with last entry at 15:00. Families of employees were allowed to visit on Thursday.

Organisers said anyone who wanted to attend must have proof of nationality, external due to Devonport being a nuclear licensed site protected under the National Security Act 2023.

John Gane, managing director of Babcock's Devonport site, said the teams were excited to open up the gates and show people what goes on there.

He said it was fantastic to show "some of the mystery" about what happens at the site.

"Hopefully it will attract people and generations of the future to come and work here in Plymouth," he said.
