The A432 bridge has now been demolished after inspectors found cracks

The M4 has fully reopened in both directions after crews demolished a cracked bridge.

It had been closed between junction 18 and 19 in South Gloucestershire since 19:00 GMT on Friday. It reopened at about 04:00 on Monday.

The A432 Badminton Road bridge, which crosses the motorway, was shut in July 2023 after inspectors found cracks in the structure.

National Highways said it would begin building a replacement bridge later in the year, which would require another M4 closure.
