Ramsey Commissioners will hold its postponed fireworks display on Saturday

A 1980s- themed public fireworks display in the north of the Isle of Man, which was called off due to strong winds last month, has been rescheduled for Saturday.

The annual event, run by Ramsey Commissioners, has been scheduled to light up the sky over the boating lake in the town's Mooragh Park from 18:00 GMT.

The annual fireworks display attracts thousands of people to the northern town to see the spectacle.

Originally scheduled to take place on 2 November as part of the displays organised to mark Bonfire Night across the island, the local authority called it off on safety grounds.

Winds of up to 35 mph (56kmh) had been forecasted by Ronaldsway Met Office at the time of the originally-scheduled display.

However, the local authority had previously said it was considering moving the display to a separate date.
