A woman has been airlifted to hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash.

She was among three people hurt in the two-vehicle collision at the junction of Highlanes and Swynnerton Road near Eccleshall, Staffordshire, at about 14:00 BST on Tuesday.

A man, who was driving one of the cars, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries while another man, the other car's driver, suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene but it has since been reopened, Staffordshire Police said.

The force has urged anyone who saw what happened or who might have information to get in touch with officers.
