Climate event about 'turning ambition into action'

Sustainable Dorset chair Jennifer Morisetti said people could bring their "questions" and "curiosity"

The organisers of an annual public climate change event have said this year's theme will be "turning environmental ambition into action".
Dorset COP is a one-day event, organised by Sustainable Dorset, which is now in its third year and will take place later at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton.
From 09:00 to 17:00 GMT it will offer a range of workshops, talks and creative projects.
Chair Jennifer Morisetti said people could bring along their questions "and help us weave the Dorset climate movement tighter, stronger, and more connected".
Organisers said attendees would be able to meet the people behind local initiatives, with live maps to see who is doing what and where.
The event also aims to be accessible to everyone and is operating a pay-what-you-can policy, with a suggested donation of £10.

Ms Morisetti said: "This is a day for farmers, organisers, repairers, youth workers, growers, wildlife champions, and anyone dreaming of a fairer, more resilient Dorset.
"Topics will include; nature recovery, river pollution, food security, transport and retrofit."
"We will also be hearing about the energy revolution with solar entrepreneur, Howard Johns."
Laura Tyley, from community group This Living Place, said: "There's so much inspiring action already happening across our rural communities, from repair cafes and community- led food projects, to heritage crafts that preserve essential knowledge about how we live with the land.
"But what we often lack are opportunities to bring all that energy together in one room to connect, to learn from one another and to feel part of something bigger.
"Dorset COP is fast becoming that space."
