Attempted murder charge after car hits two men

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a car hit two men, leaving one with potential life-changing injuries.

Romario Qatja, from Oxford, has also been charged with dangerous driving after the incident in the city on Saturday night.

Thames Valley Police said a grey Mercedes had mounted the pavement and ran into two men in their 20s on St Clements at about 22:30 BST.

Both men were taken to hospital. One is still there being treated for potentially life-changing injuries.

Police said Qatja, 30, had been remanded in custody and was due to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
