A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a blaze at a vape shop.

The fire took place at about 02:00 BST on Wednesday, on Market Square, Waltham Abbey, Essex.

Essex Police said the man, 33, from London, was questioned and had been released on bail while investigations continued.

It said the shop was extensively damaged but the property above, which was evacuated, was undamaged.

It confirmed no one was inside the premises at the time and there have been no reports of any injuries.

It asked for anyone who had any information, CCTV, dashcam or other footage in relation to the incident to get in touch.
