Drivers are being warned of long delays on the M62 in West Yorkshire after a van crashed into the central reservation.

The vehicle crashed on the westbound carriageway between junction 22 at Saddleworth and junction 23 at Huddersfield just before 11:30 BST, National Highways said.

It comes as the Met Office has a yellow weather warning in place for strong winds, and heavy rain battered the region at times.

The motorway was closed in both directions while emergency services were called to the scene, but two out of three lanes have since re-opened both ways.

National Highways is warning drivers to expect delays of about an hour.

No-one is believed to have been injured in the crash.
