A 16-year-old boy is being treated in hospital after he and another man were stabbed.
Avon and Somerset Police said the boy was given first aid by members of the public until paramedics arrived at the scene, near the Esso Garage on London Road in Bath, on Wednesday night.
His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, officers said.
A 20-year-old man was also assaulted in the incident, which happened at about 23:16 BST, but was discharged from hospital after treatment to a small cut.
Police say they believe the attack took place in a communal area of Snow Hill House flats.
Two suspects, both described as wearing face coverings, left the scene through nearby gardens.
One suspect wore a hoodie and the other wore a blue coat, officers added.
Bath Neighbourhood Insp Stuart King said: "On behalf of the injured and the emergency services, I would particularly like to thank the members of the public who gave first aid."
He said patrols would be increased in the area but did not believe there was a risk to the wider public.
Anybody with information is asked to contact the force.
