A man has been taken to hospital after a suspected assault in Penzance.

Emergency services were called to Market Jew Street at 02:20 BST on Tuesday after reports of an assault.

A man in his 40s was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it had arrested a local man in his 20s on suspicion of assault and criminal damage, and he remained in custody for questioning.
