A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 50s was fatally stabbed.
Police attended the Farley Hill area of Luton shortly before 14:15 BST on Thursday and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit said the death was being treated as murder.
"We’re working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and identify the person responsible," Det Ch Insp Nick Gardner said.
Those living in properties along Whipperley Way have been asked to check any CCTV or doorbell camera footage captured from their properties.
Mr Gardner said a "number of lines of inquiry" were being followed.
"Our thoughts, first and foremost, are with the family and friends of the man who has died in these tragic circumstances," he added.
