A man was arrested after a police dog found large quantities of drugs and weapons.

The 21-year-old, from Chippenham in Wiltshire, was arrested on possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Officers executing a warrant at an address in Clifton Close were supported by the dog unit.

Wiltshire Police said a "large quantity" of class A and B drugs were found as well as weapons and items for growing cannabis.

PC Paul Croft said: “Warrants of this nature are often made possible thanks to the intelligence provided to us from the local community and we would urge anybody concerned about drug supply in their neighbourhood to contact us immediately.

“We know that drug supply is often associated with violence, weapons and other criminality and it can have a particularly negative impact on a neighbourhood.

“We hope news of this warrant provides reassurance to local residents that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated.”

The arrested man has since been released on conditional bail while the investigation continues.
