Police seek prisoner on the run for a week

Police are seeking an inmate who has been on the run for a week from an open prison.

Bernard McDonagh, 59, absconded from HMP Spring Hill, external in Grendon Underwood, Buckinghamshire, at about 16:00 on 30 August.

He is described as white, 5ft 10in, with brown hair, blue eyes and has an Irish accent.

McDonagh also has a scar above his left eye, a tattoo of a swallow on his left hand and another of three dots on his right hand.

The police said it was known he had connections to the Brighton area.

They advised the public not to approach McDonagh but to instead call the police if he is spotted.
