Detectives are investigating the death of Ben Procter in Peterborough

Detectives investigating the suspected murder of a teenager are questioning a 33-year-old man.

Ben Procter, from Peterborough, was pronounced dead on Monday after suffering a head injury.

The 19-year-old was found in Wellington Street, Peterborough, late on Sunday.

Cambridgeshire Police said the man being questioned was from Peterborough and had been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.

'Isolated incident'

Officers were called shortly before midnight on Sunday after reports a man had collapsed at a car compound in Wellington Street.

Mr Procter had suffered a head injury and was pronounced dead at less than an hour later – in the early hours of Monday.

Det Insp Richard Stott said police believed Mr Procter’s death was an “isolated incident”.

A post-mortem examination was due to take place on Wednesday.
