A petition to remove the goods and services tax (GST) from food has reached more than 1,000 signatures.

It means there will now be a response from Jersey's government after hitting the threshold.

The petition states the cost of living was becoming "very difficult for a lot of islanders" and removing the tax would be a "great help".

The deadline for the petition, which runs for six months, is January 31 2026.
