Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a suspected stabbing in Devon.

The incident happened at about 21:10 BST on Monday outside the Morrisons supermarket in Cranbrook, near Exeter.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds and his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Police added that two boys from Cranbrook - one aged 17 and the other 15 - remained in custody on Tuesday after being arrested. Anyone with information or video footage of the incident has been asked to contact the force.

A cordon at the scene of the incident remained in place on Tuesday.

Det Insp Neil Lloyd said the force was not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

He added there would be an increased police presence in the town while investigations took place.

"We understand that whilst crimes of this nature are rare, there will be a concern in the local community," Det Insp Lloyd said.
