A Scunthorpe man who sexually abused two children has been jailed for three years and three months.

Stacie John Farrar, 47, was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, following a five-day trial at Grimsby Crown Court in June.

Farrar was handed an indefinite restraining order and sexual harm prevention order by Hull Crown Court earlier.

He will also be on the sex offenders register for life.

Humberside Police launched an investigation after a child said Farrar had sexually abused them over a number of years.

During inquires, another victim came forward and reported similar offences.

Farrar was charged with five counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, assault by penetration and rape of a child under 13. He denied all allegations.

Det Con Katherine Drapier, from the force, described Farrar as "an abhorrent individual" who was "dangerous to children".

"I would like to commend the victims and their families who have showed nothing but bravery and courage throughout the course of the investigation and court proceedings," she added.
