Man flown to hospital after being hit by car

A cyclist has been airlifted to a hospital in London after being hit by a car in Kent, police say.

Officers were called to the incident in Linton Road, near Loose, Maidstone, at 05:33 BST on Wednesday.

The man was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital in a serious condition, South East Coast Ambulance Service said.

The road was closed near the junction with Rosemount Close for an investigation to be carried out, but reopened at about 16:00.
