Man, 59, dies after crash on Ballamodha Straight

A 59-year-old man has died after a crash on the Ballamodha Straight, police have said.

James Errol Tahsin was involved in a two-vehicle crash at 07:45 GMT on Wednesday.

The driver of the second vehicle was transferred to the UK for medical treatment, with a passenger in the same vehicle also sustaining injuries.

The Isle of Man constabulary said a full forensic investigation had been conducted at the scene by the Roads Policing Unit.

The incident involved two local male drivers.

The police stated: "It's now with great sadness, we can confirm as a result of sustaining fatal injuries, the death of the driver, James Errol Tahsin, aged 59 years.

"We would like to pass our condolences to the family and friends of Mr Tahsin."

Police said the family of Mr Tahsin were being supported by officers.

"We request that the public refrain from speculating as to the circumstances of the collision, and would ask that the privacy of all is respected at this time."

The constabulary added that "the driver and passenger of the second vehicle are fully cooperating with police".
