Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in Kent.

Emergency services were called to reports of an assault in Cowper Road, Margate, at about 18:30 GMT on Friday.

A man was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious condition, with injuries consistent with stab wounds, police said.

A 45-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man have been arrested in connection with the assault.

Both remain in custody while inquiries continue, said Kent Police.

South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended the incident.

Police urged anyone with relevant information or who witnessed the assault to contact police.
