Three men have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after a man died in a crash involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle with a trailer.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to a stretch of the A447 Hinckley Road at Cadeby, near Market Bosworth in Leicestershire, at 12:36 GMT on Thursday.

A man in his 50s who was driving the car, a black BMW, was pronounced dead at the scene, and no other injuries were reported.

A 46-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash, and on Friday was further arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

Police said two other men – aged 20 and 17 – were also arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter on Friday.

On Saturday, a police spokesperson said the men had all been released on bail while the investigation continued.

The force has urged anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage from the area to get in touch.
