A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man was found collapsed with several "significant" injuries at a property.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was found by paramedics on the floor of a building on Bank Street, Church, on Sunday, Lancashire Police said.

Staff treating him at Royal Preston Hospital told police his injuries were consistent with being the victim of an assault.

He remained in a critical but stable condition, police said. The man arrested has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries, the force said.
