A man has been arrested at a ferry terminal on suspicion of drugs offences after a fellow passenger collapsed during a crossing.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said officers were called to the Red Jet terminal in Cowes shortly before 22:00 GMT on Thursday.

The collapsed passenger, a man in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The force said a 60-year-old man from Totland was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and he remains in custody.

It led to the Red Jet Hi-Speed crossings from Southampton at 22:30 and the 23:15 GMT from Cowes being delayed.

Red Funnel said the catamaran, Red Jet 7, was back on the move within 10 minutes.
