Sixth arrest after death of man in alleyway

A sixth man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Stoke-on-Trent.

Thapelo Jali, 21, was found in an alleyway on Buccleuch Road, Normacot, on 22 July and died at the scene.

A 50-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, Staffordshire Police said.

He has been released on police bail as investigations continue.

Ezaan Hussain, 20, Tuheed Hussain, 23, Tayyab Hussain, 26, and Zubair Hussain, 45, all from Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, have all been charged with murder.

In addition, Hakim Mohammed, 22, from Normacot, Stoke-on-Trent, has been charged with murder and possession of a knife or sharp pointed article in a public place.

All five of those charged are due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on 11 October.
