Police have renewed an appeal to help track down a man who has been missing for two years after he was charged with attacking strangers in Leeds city centre.

Hardeep Garcha, from Bradford, failed to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on 10 July 2023 and officers had been unable to trace him despite "extensive inquiries", West Yorkshire Police said.

The 33-year-old was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm and a racially-aggravated public order offence.

Police said the charges followed "random attacks" in Heaton's Court and Leeds train station on 11 November 2022, in which one man was left with a broken jaw and another suffered severe bruising.

A force spokesperson added that while Mr Garcha had links to Bradford, information suggested he had recently been living in Sheffield.
