A 29-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man in a street attack in South Lanarkshire.

David Graham, 38, from Cambuslang, was found seriously injured in General’s Gate in Uddingston on Sunday evening.

Mr Graham was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Liam Kippen made no plea when he appeared in private at Hamilton Sheriff Court. He was remanded in custody.

Police Scotland inquiries into Mr Graham's death are ongoing.
