A man whose body was found on the Hampshire coast on Boxing Day has been identified following several police appeals.

The 72-year-old, from Southsea, was identified after Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary asked for help identifying him after officers were called to Eastney East Battery on Southsea Esplanade.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family has been informed.

The police force, which repeated its appeal information in March, has sent a file to the coroner.
