Man bailed after anti-immigration protest arrest

Around 75 protesters marched between Gloucester's Guildhall to Shire Hall

Police have released further details after a man was arrested at an anti-immigration protest.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said that a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of breaching public order conditions and has now been released on conditional bail.
The conditions of the man's bail prevent him from attending any protest or event organised by the Patriots of Gloucestershire after the group organised a march of around 75 people in Gloucester city centre on Sunday.
They were met by a group of around 200 counter demonstrators.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said that a planned operation was in place to facilitate a peaceful protest:
"At yesterday's protest police powers were authorised to allow the two groups to protest separately," said Assistant Chief Constable Donna Lawton.
"Officers were in attendance throughout to ensure we carefully balanced the rights of those who wanted to peacefully protest along with the rights of the wider community to go about their daily lives."
