A female police community support officer who appeared to kick a man "between the legs" during an incident outside a shopping centre has been charged with assault by beating.
Paula Fox, 55, is alleged to have used excessive force on the man outside the Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster on 27 February, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said.
A spokesperson for the watchdog said "she appeared to kick him between the legs" and they began an investigation following complaints by two members of the public who saw the altercation.
The South Yorkshire Police officer is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Friday.
