Man and woman die in separate crashes

A man and a woman have died in separate road traffic collisions in County Antrim.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said it received a report that a male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on the Ballygowan Road in east Belfast shortly after 23:00 BST on Saturday.

A woman, who was in her 80s, also died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the Killagan Road in Glarryford shortly after 14:00 BST on Sunday.

Three other people were also taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.

Insp Cherith Adair from the PSNI's collision investigation unit appealed for anyone with information on either incident to contact police.
