A woman who drove her car at a man in a road rage attack leaving him with injuries to his face teeth and hands has been jailed.

Lauren Willis, from Gillingham, put her victim through a "terrifying" ordeal on the A249 near Bobbing on 31 May 2024, Kent Police said.

The 28-year-old was jailed for three years and six months at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday after admitting a charge of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Willis was also disqualified from driving for five years and nine months.

Police said Willis, who was driving a Volkswagen Golf, and the man, who had been travelling in an Audi, had earlier been involved in a dispute over her driving.

Both got out of their vehicles near a roundabout before Willis then drove at the victim.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, a police spokesperson said.

Willis was arrested in Ware, Hertfordshire two days later.

Det Con Rob Sircar said: "Willis' driving that morning was nothing less than appalling. She put her victim through a terrifying ordeal and it is only by good fortune that the consequences were not far worse.

"I'm pleased that Willis has been jailed and that she will be prevented from getting behind the wheel upon her release."
