A boxer has been jailed after a man was left permanently disabled following a frenzied attack at the victim's home.

Robert Frasonski, 25, filmed himself kicking and stamping on the victim's head, while he lay unconscious at his home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, on 16 April 2023.

The victim suffered serious injuries and is likely to need life-long 24-hour nursing care.

Frasonski pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent when he appeared at Bristol Crown Court on Monday. He was handed an extended sentence of 18 years, 13 of which he will spend in custody.

Frasonski had repeatedly threatened the victim's life prior to the assault, the hearing was told.

The victim’s fiancée and her young daughter had to flee the scene and rang the emergency services, the court was told.

'Deliberate, severe injuries'

“Robert Frasonski clearly felt he had a grudge to settle with his victim," said Ruth Sands, a senior crown prosecutor at CPS Wessex.

“He was trained as boxer, and knew how to deliver devastating blows that have caused deliberate, severe injuries.

“He even went so far to do such damage in front of his terrified partner and her young child," she added.

Ms Sands said the victim is "unlikely to live independently again" and "Frasonski stole his and his family’s future".

'A monster'

Complex Crime Investigator Ledbury, of Wiltshire Police, described Frasonski's actions as "horrific".

"The victim’s family, his fiancée and future step-daughter have had to come to terms with what has happened and deal with the life-long consequences of Frasonski’s actions," they said.

"Despite great emotional and practical challenges, they have remained resolute in helping see justice delivered in this case and I would like to pay tribute to them.

"His Honour Judge Lambert described Frasonski as ‘a monster’ and the sentence delivered by him is reflective of the danger he poses."
