Arrests by West Midlands Police have spiked, with 226 people apprehended on Wednesday for offences including knife possession, burglary and domestic abuse.
The force said the tally marked "one of the highest numbers in recent times".
Police held 82 people on suspicion of domestic abuse, seven for robbery, eight for burglary and six for vehicle crime, while 10 were arrested for possession of knives or offensive weapons.
Total crime across the West Midlands has dropped by almost 20,000 offences between July 2024 to June 2025, the force added.
Among the arrests was a 43-year-old man in Wolverhampton on suspicion of burgling a home near the city centre last month.
A 55-year-old man was arrested in Kings Norton on suspicion of domestic abuse offences, and a woman who was wanted for a robbery.
A weapon was recovered from a person on Erdington High Street and another man found by the police dig unit hiding in bushes in Solihull was arrested for burglary.
The force said the number of arrests overall had risen since 2022 and three more custody blocks had been opened.
A local policing model across seven areas, external was adopted in 2023 which "brought a better spread of officers, detectives and specialist staff across the force".
